First Pictures from Ireland

The first pictures of Val and Ella in Ireland are now up on the Flickr site.

Meanwhile I’m still freezing my butt off in a cold Sydney, although today was slightly warmer.

Not been doing much except working long hours this week. As the company I’m working for are shutting down production in Sydney and moving up to Queensland, there’s been a mad rush to get everything finished in time for the move.

Sydneys Coldest day in 20 years

Whatever happened to Global Warming!

While Val and Ella are off enjoying themselves in Ireland, muggins here, is stuck in a freezing (that might be a slight exaggeration) Sydney.

I’ve resorted to wearing thermals for the first time in my life. If anyone tries to tell you ‘Australia is always warm’ Don’t believe them, its all a big con.

Val and Ella arrive in Ireland!

Well the secret can finally be revealed, Val and Ella’s surprise visit to Ireland has been a success.

They landed in Dublin on Monday morning, where Mary, Tina and Edel picked them up. Val’s Mum and Dad had no idea they where on the way and it was all a big shock and surprise.
They haven’t sent me any pictures yet, so this is a professional artist impression of their flight.
Val tells me that Ella was fine on the flight and slept better than she does at home. As soon as we have some pictures we’ll be posting them here on the blog, but check over at our Flickr site here for many more pic’s.

Brazil victorious in Copa America

Brazil retained the Copa America after beating favourites Argentina 3-0 in a one-sided final in Venezuela.
Brazil opened the scoring in the fourth minute as former Arsenal striker Julio Baptista hammered a fine strike past Argentina keeper Roberto Abbondanzieri.
Five minutes before the interval, Roberto Ayala inadvertently deflected Daniel Alves’ cross into his own net.
And Alves secured victory with 21 minutes remaining as he finished well following a smart counter-attack.
It was Brazil’s eighth Copa America title and denied their arch-rivals a record 15th crown.
Argentina were outplayed in every department as the sparkling form they showed in the run-up to the final deserted

The Winning Whisky

A while ago, they ran a competition at work to design the label, of a special whisky bottle, commemorating the closure of the Fosters bottling plant I work at.
