Our Life Down Under

So I finally got an iphone on Saturday and I have to say it is the best gadget type thing I have ever bought.

I’m actually writing this post from the phone.

Edel and Breda-Ann left us on Saturday also, so we are all alone until our next visitors arrive. Not sure who that will be yet maybe our friends Chris and Helen.

As it was Edel and Breda-Ann’s last full weekend, we went out for the day to North Stradbroke Island.

We got the car ferry from Cleveland over to the island, which takes 45 minutes. The weather was nice and we had a picnic which Val made. Strawberrys on the beach, now thats the life. Ella went for a little splash in the ocean and I took some film on the camcorder, but until I get my main computer fixed I can’t edit it and get it up onto the site.

We did take some stills though and I’ll try and get them up later on tonight.

We got a letter today saying that we have been accepted to the Mater Mothers Hospital in Brisbane.

I has a very good reputation, a lot better than the other two options we had. It’s apparently hard to get into (especially at this late stage), people will request to go there very early on in their pregnancy normally. So we feel pretty lucky and relieved.

Val has her first appointmant there on the 12th of September.

Just off to pickup Edel and Breda-Ann, as they are moving in with us tonight.

Just been tinkering around with the site today and have added a Music section.

If you click on the Music tab at the top of the page you’ll find my album can now be downloaded directly from this site.

There is also a link to it’s itunes page, but to get it from itunes you’ll have to buy it.

Also, i’ve fix the RSS Feed now, so by clicking the tab at the top you can subscribe to updates in various ways including email and your favourite RSS reader (personally I preffer Google Reader)

Paula came up from Sydney for the weekend and we drove up to a place called Montville for the day on Sunday.

Edel had been to Montville a couple of weeks ago and said it was a nice place to visit, so we drove the 1.5 hours north with Paula and had a look around. Lots of nice little shops and cafes, including the Connemara Cottage shop.

A few new pictures up on Flickr including Ella getting a new doll that Paula was nice enough to buy her.

If you forget and type in www.simonpither.com, don’t worry, that will now redirect you to this new address.

My advice would be to Bookmark this new address and use that.
