Our Life Down Under

At last we finally have an internet connection at the house.

So hope to start skyping folks again this weekend. I can also get to my email which has been ignored for about 3 weeks.

We still have no internet here at the new house, so we are a bit out of the loop.
I won’t go into the boring details of the delay, just that our internet provider has stuffed it up twice now.
Fingers crossed we should be back up and running in a day or two.

Update – its looking like Monday the 7th now. I may lose my mind!

Didn’t get a chance to take any pictures yesterday as it was raining all day, and Val didn’t want to go outside and get wet.

We’ll try again today, but don’t hold your breath.

Well, its been nearly a month since the last proper post here on the site. So I better fill you all in on whats been happening.

As you can see we decided to move up to sunny Queensland. House prices are cheaper here so we have a much bigger place. It’s a 3 bedroom house, with front and back garden, all fenced so Ella can run around and not escape. There is a carpeted garage outside that I have set my computers up in and I may even get back to making some music soon and I’m also planning a new podcast.

The house is on a secure estate with a security guard at the gate. They’re not allowed to deliver junk mail, no boy racers, security will sign for packages if your not home and we are very unlikely to get robbed. Not that that was much of a danger anyway, but it’s nice to know.

Oh, and we are right next to a golf course so I might get a round or two in, now and again.

It was really sad to leave Sydney and hopefully one day we will go back there to live again, but right now we have a better life set out ready to explore.

Tonight I will try and take some pictures of the house and get them up for you all to see.

Val and Ella finally arrived last night and Ella was so excited running around and exploring everything. She just wouldn’t stop moving, hopefully this place will wear her out more and she will sleep better at night.

A quick run down of all that we’ve done in the last 3 weeks. And remember it’s roughly a 13-14 hour drive between Sydney and Brisbane.

• I drove my Car up from Sydney to Brisbane on Sunday the 1st of June, staying in Coffs Harbour for the night on the way.
• Spent the week looking for a Job.
• Got a job on Friday the 6th.
• 8th of June – Hired a Truck and drove it to Sydney – like a fool a drove it in one go leaving at 8:50 am and arriving back in Bondi at 11pm. Believe me when I say, I will never be doing that again.
• 9th of June – loaded up the truck with the contents of our apartment in Bondi, with the excellent help of Gary, David and Edel.
• 10th of June – Drove back to Brisbane staying in Coffs Harbour this time.
• 11th of June – arrived at the new house at around 4pm, with David and Edel having come with me. We unloaded the truck, before collapsing and watching a movie at the new house.
• 12th of June – Took Edel into Brisbane to meet back up with her friends. Dropped David off at the airport so he could go back to work in Sydney.
• Got back to the house – collapsed
• Friday the 13th (oh scary) Started my new Job!

So from finishing my last job at Praline Chocolates (without having a job to go to) it was less than two weeks before I started here and Bondor.

Well, I will work on getting the pictures up on the site by tomorrow if I can, so stay tuned.

We just went to look at this place and really liked it.

We are going to fill out the application for it anyway and see how we go. Hopefully someone else dosn’t beat us too it.

Update: We got the house and we get the keys on the 7th of June. The above link doesn’t work now because they’ve taken the house off their real estate website. Here is a link to a map showing the street though.
